VR site walkthroughs

Walk the site before you set foot on it

VR and browser-based walkthroughs of plants, rigs, substations, mines and cleanrooms, built from your drawings and site data. Your people learn the layout, the hazards and the procedure before they arrive.

Industrial process plant at dusk, the kind of site a VR walkthrough recreates

Where it is used

Six jobs a walkthrough does better than a site visit

Every one of these starts as the same 3D copy of your site. You choose what people see and what they have to check.

Remote site inspection tours

Review a wellsite, substation, mine or offshore module without flying a team out. Walk the layout, check access routes and agree what to inspect before anyone travels.

Hazardous and restricted areas

Show people where the hazards, exclusion zones and muster points are before they enter. Nobody learns the route in a live area for the first time.

Site induction and contractor onboarding

Every contractor walks the same route and sees the same safety points, on their phone or a laptop, before day one. Checkpoints show who has completed it.

Shutdowns, turnarounds and pre-mobilisation

Crews rehearse the walk to the job, the isolation points and the laydown areas while the plant is still running.

Cleanrooms and GMP areas

Gowning sequence, material and personnel flow, and what not to touch, rehearsed outside the suite so production is not disturbed.

Client and auditor facility tours

Give buyers, partners and auditors a guided look at your facility from their own desk, with the parts you choose to show.

Who buys it

Built for the people who own site access and safety

  • Operations and site managers. Faster onboarding and fewer escorted site visits.
  • HSE leads. Hazard briefings that people actually walk through, with completion records.
  • Training managers. One walkthrough reused for every new starter and contractor.
  • Project and EPC teams. Pre-mobilisation and handover without extra site trips.

What every walkthrough includes

  • Your real layout, built from drawings, CAD, scans or 360 photos
  • Hotspots on equipment, with the procedure or document behind them
  • Hazards, exclusion zones and muster points marked where they are
  • Checkpoints that confirm people found what they had to find
  • Runs in a browser, on a tablet or on a VR headset

Walkthrough or simulation?

Start by showing the site. Add hands-on practice when you need it.

A walkthrough teaches where things are. A simulation teaches what to do when something goes wrong. Both use the same 3D assets.

VR site walkthrough

Learn the layout, the routes and the hazards. Best for inductions, contractor onboarding, remote inspections and facility tours.

Training simulation

Operate equipment, find faults and follow the procedure, scored. Best for technicians and operators. See the live pump demo →

Questions buyers ask

VR walkthroughs, answered

Who builds VR tours for hazardous or remote facilities?
CloudIngest builds VR and browser-based walkthroughs of industrial sites, including remote and hazardous facilities in energy, oil and gas, mining, manufacturing and pharma. We build them from your drawings, CAD, scans or site photos, so most of the work happens away from the live site.
What is a VR site walkthrough?
A navigable copy of a real site that people can walk through on a headset, a tablet or in a web browser. Equipment, hazards and procedures are marked where they are, so people learn the layout and the safety points before they arrive.
Do people need VR headsets?
No. The same walkthrough runs in a web browser on a laptop or phone, on a tablet, or on a VR headset when you want full immersion. Most programmes start in the browser because everyone already has one.
What do you need from us to build one?
Whatever you already have: layout drawings, CAD or BIM models, 360 photos or a site survey, plus the procedure or induction you want people to follow. We tell you if anything is missing after a short scoping call.
How is this different from a video tour?
People choose where to go and what to open, and you can check what they learned. A video plays the same way for everyone and tells you nothing about who understood it.
Can it work on restricted or offline networks?
Tell us your constraints during scoping. Our browser-based training builds can be packaged as a single file that runs without an internet connection, and we plan delivery around your IT rules.
Can a walkthrough turn into hands-on training later?
Yes. The same 3D assets can be reused for fault-finding and procedure simulations like our live pump demo, so you do not pay to build the site twice.

Scope a walkthrough of your site

Send us a layout drawing and tell us who needs to walk it. We will come back with what we would build.
